Torpedo Marine Roofing Paint
- Marine Roofing paint based on a Synthetic Alkyd Resin
- Rust inhibitive pigments that provide reasonable protection to the Metal Sheets on the Roof
- The product has good coverage and upon drying it forms a tough film that is long lasting and holds good weathering properties
Designed Use:
- It is strongly recommended for metal Roofs constituting mild steel, or Galvanized surfaces
Availability:
- As per customer requirement.
Coverage:
- The theoretical coverage of TORPEDO MARINE ROOFING PAINT would be approximately 8 – 10 M²/liter at a Dry film thickness of 30 µ
*Due consideration must be given to the evenness of the surface and the nature of the substrate.
Surface Preparation:
- Avoid humid conditions >95% and also dew point of <3% for application
- The expected life span is directly related to the surface cleanliness and proper application.
- Ensure that the surface to be painted is free from dust, and other loose flakes that would be detrimental in the proper application
- For steel and other metal ensure that the TORPEDO MARINE RED OXIDE PRIMER/ZINC CHROMATE PRIMER is applied prior to and adequate drying is allowed
- Apply VITON ETCH PRIMER as the final preparation coat for TORPEDO MARINE ROOFING PAINT top coat
- Apply two to three coats of top coat as required
- Stir well with a convenient mixing equipment for uniformity to ensure good mixing of all the components
*Not suitable for immersed conditions & cannot be coated with 2K, Vinyl & aromatic thinned alkyd systems.
Method of application:
- By roller/brush and if large areas are to be painted one can use suitable spray application.
- To keep the brush/roller and spray equipment in good condition for use, clean the same in ROBBIALAC GP THINNER and dry them immediately after application
Thinning recommendation:
- ROBBIALAC GP THINNER and to the extent of maximum of 10% of the paint on final coat
- Stir well with a convenient mixing equipment for uniformity to ensure good mixing of all the components
